Purpose of this document
This document is a guideline for a multimodal optimization tool for transport flows. It will help you to reuse and change your traffic simulation model to a multimodal optimization tool or develop a new model from the beginning.
A multimodal optimization tool can help decision-makers in finding optimized transport flows and the choice of transportation modalities most suitable for the nodes. Simulation models can be used as a high-level optimization as below.
- All inbound and outbound transport flows
- Cover all transportation modes and focus on defining the different interfaces
- Allow for changing the optimization criteria (shift times, arrival of cruise ships, delivery windows, environmental contribution, costs, etc.,)
How to use?
- Do you have your simulation model to reuse/change?
Reuse/change your current model
- If you don’t have your simulation model to start
Build a new model
